For your knitting pleasure :)

Meriboo Sock Yarn
BFL Aran

"Blue Banana" has finally made it onto yarrrn, and will become a regular colourway. I worked out how to get the blues and browns not to mix and muddy...so here we are!
I love it. My next round of handspun sock yarn will be dyed in it......might even attempt a pair of Monkeys !!!
Yeah, okay you guys......don't all faint!

Arm twisting........

A customer emailed me to ask if I'd come out of the Woolly Wilderness just one last time......
I am rather pleased with the results......

These shoes were meant for meeeeeee :)

We were on our way back from a hospital appointment today, and we just happened to pass Fat Face.....well, I just fancied a little looksee....as you do ;)
I walked straight past them, but Phil picked them up and showed them to me.....then he got the shotgun out of his pocket and put it to my head.....hehehe
And, would you believe, I had my sock knitting bag with me for the waiting room at the hospital, and so I had my finished left sock on me at the time!!! So I tried them on with the sock!!! How completely full of WIN is that?????
And when I got them to the till, they were in the sale!!!
These shoes were made for my new socks.....so they had to be purchased....

One sock down........

Woohoo!!!
Am well chuffed with it, and I had loads of yarn left out of the half I set aside for it :) I do like the solid purple trim though, and it is really stretchy too.

Handspun Sock progress...

Okay, so I cast these on yesterday afternoon whilst my boys were all out at the footeh.....then I frogged them back as I wasn't happy with them......lol
I re~cast on last night, with 64 stitches, using a DK King Cole anti~tickle solid in purple for the cuff, on 2.75mm needles. I changed to 2.5mm when I switched to my handspun, and I am using the Lacy Mock Cable Stitch pattern.
I'll also use the King Cole for the toe as well...... :)
Lookin' good sofar, and although the stitch pattern is a little bit lost in the colours, I really felt it was important to have lots of texture with my handspun. The whole reason I frogged it back was that plain stocking stitch just looked too flat and boring...lol
Onwards and upwards!!!

We have first tooth loss at Hughsey Heights!!!

We're all settled down for the night, and suddenly a raucous cacophony erupts from upstairs......yes, Joel has lost his first tooth. It was the first one that came through when he was a bebeh too, and the other bottom one came through very soon after that one.....so we expect to have a lot of visits from the tooth fairy :)

My Boys........

My boys went to the Walkers Stadium today, to watch Leicester City vs Swindon.....
It was Joel's first game.......

Some sock yarn for meeeeee :)

..:.::GRiNS::.:..
This is one ply of SW Merino, another of SW BFL and then the third ply is SW Meriboo......yum!!! All three of the white wools will take the dye differently, I am really excited about dyeing it :)
There's about 300 yds of it........and I am going to dye it in my "Purple Rainbow" colourway, as I fell in love with it this morning when I was re~skeining a custom order :D Just need some citric acid now.......I ran out. Shoot the person who orders supplies!!!

Playing with semi-solids

Been having a play with my slow cookers and creating what I'd define as "semi~solid"....ie layers of mottled colour (in the same colour family) that give the yarn an almost 3D quality...
Thsese are the results...on a bog standard cream superwash aran I had in my stash.....quite pleased with the results... :D
Superwashed yarn is brilliant base for semi-solids, especially the thirstier SW wools....as they suck up the dyes in a really uneven way, allowing for the building up of coloured "layers" :)
