Just in case I was feeling sad..........

I got the most amazing surprise in the post today, from a fellow spinner in the UKSpinners swap!!! I have spent the last 2 hours in awe of her kindness.......

At this point I was trying to pick my jaw up off the floor.......it was so beautifully packaged, and it was also like the magic porridge pot, the more I opened the more there was!!!!!

This is all of it, unwrapped........*****squeees*****

This is BFL, plied with gold thread, which gives a boucle effect, and it is gorgeous...!!!

These two pics are of the 2ply BFL yarn she spun especially for me, and its yummy, like sweeties, and smells divine :)

And here we have some fibre, top left is flax, top right is egyptian cotton (oooooh) and bottom is undyed silk hankies :) I cannot wait to start on the cotton!

Heres two lots of dyed fibre, a braid from Spindlefrog on etsy, and some merino from Shunklies, also on etsy...... :)

And finally.......all the little extras!!!

Hardly little either.....A Noro book, with a pattern in that I'd been looking at on Ravelry, what a jolly good stalker my spoiler is!! Theres also beautiful ceramic buttons, some beads, personalised pencils (yay!!!), and beautiful pen and some gel pens and a notebook!!!!

I must have been a very good girl........what do you reckon?

Its that time of year again :(

I lost my babies to the madhouse again yesterday, after a lovely summer. Here's some pics of them, looking all smart and ready to go........

Gorgeous Fluffy post.......hhmmmmm

I recieved my yummysquishyloveliness from LindaLee on etsy this morning..... and it is even more beautiful in the flesh :) It was so beautifully packaged too, as you can see in the picture, and I dunno what she rinses her rovings in, but they smell delightful!!!

I purchased 100g of Autumn's Joy Merino Cashmere roving, and as a welcome gift, she sent me 30g of her Blue Bayou colourway, also on Merino cashmere.....!!!

So I am one VERY lucky ducky.... ***grins***

Blimey...I need a holiday :)

Today was my last dyeing day till the kids go back to school......I dyed up 200g of "Sophie" on merino/alpaca DK, and 200g of"Rainbow thru the Clouds" on the same yarn :) But as I was using up the last of my dyes on a skein of organic merino aran, I discovered a new colourway!!!

My hubby walked past it, and named it "Ragdoll"...and I think it fits :)
Took the boys out to the park this afternoon, as the weather was glorious...until about 4.30 when we had a monsoon!!!
Was quite cross really, as I'd put 4 days worth of washing out on my incredibly long washing line....now its all wet.....

Hmphhhh.....

Secret plans and clever tricks

I woke up in the middle of the night on Tuesday, with a new hat pattern in my head and the idea of a perfect yarn to do it in :)
So here we go......this is merino/silk in the greens/yellows of my enchanted colourway, and I'll be plying it with jet black merino......
Look out for the new beanie pattern too....and of course it will be free for all, for personal use......

Busy weekend......

Lottie and Miffy came over yesterday, as did a lovely lady from Ravelry called Nikki :), and we did some dyeing, it was great fun!!! They came up with some lovely colours, and went away with bags of hand-dyed fluff :) I was totally inspired by something Miffy came up with and put my own "spin" on it today, calling it "Fruit Salad"

I also dyed some corrie roving up too, "Rainbow Brite"

I had a lot of time to myself this weekend to do dyeing, as the football season has started again..... hehehe

A Colourful Custom :)

Urghblah......Mondays suck :(

Not having a good day sofar.....no no no I am not.....
I have a stinking headache, theres a pile of washing the size of a small African country waiting for my love and attention....
...and as for my boys...we'll not go into that...any other day it would be a piece of cake, but not today. Hmm, cake....

Add all this up to the comedown from a creative outburst, and we have an unhappy Sarah.

Gah....

Spunky Mama!!!

Another 3 ply yarn, this one has consumed my every waking moment since Thursday, finished plying it at 12.30 last night !!! I have called it "Spunky Mama" as it has one ply of Spunky Eclectic merino/cashmere, one ply of Falkland, bought from Artis-Anne's shop on etsy, Mam a Mi, and a ply of solid deep purple Merino.

I absolutely love it, it is soooooo soft, and its bloomed to almost twice the size it was when I finished it last night!!!! I hav'nt got round to doing the yardage and WPI yet, but there is 160g of it.....and its roughly Aran....

Now, what to knit with it???
Or should I just keep it to stroke?
