.....roving on the bobbin......

Yep....its spinning nicely :)

Hand dyed Roving :)

I dyed this up yesterday, my first attempt :) The colours arn't very bright, because I panicked and didn't dye it for long enough... LOL
Was terrified of it felting....
Anyway, as it was drying I was convinced I'd felted it....but now it is dry, it hasn't, well not a lot, the ends have felted a bit ;)
I've just pre-drafted some, thats why there are only 3 bundles....and its spinning up really well.....
Woohoo..... :)

Its in the Pfauenauge colourway......

Gone Spinning......

My Kilo of Corriedale just arrived from Winghams
.........
Off to roll in it a bit....see you in a few weeks..... *GRINS*

Hand dyed goodness :)

I hand dyed over 600g of Organically farmed Merino this weekend as well....heres a little taste of two new colourways.......

I called this one "Winter Warmer", as a customer requested a mulled wine kinda colourway.....

And this is "Mexicana" again........

Fibrey Goodness :)

This is the spindle single/wheel single I posted earlier...hand dyed in a colourway i have named "Mexicana".....aaaaarrrrriba!

This is made from some yummy merino roving I bought to do felting with. I was saving it to spindle, as I can get a really thin single on my spindle. But, I just HAD to use my wheel.... hahaha...like a kid with a new toy I am....
Theres a block purple single, and a variegated pinks and purple single. Amazingly, the yardage on both came out almost identical!!! That must say something about my spinning..... *grins*
Still having plying issues though......but that will resolve itself with practice. Just need more FIBRE!!!

A custom order....for a lovely lady who explained her deep yearning for all the pink she was denied as a child :)
I tried my best!!!

My first wheel spun Yarrrrrn :o)

This is made from a spindled single and a wheel spun single....
It took me ages to get the hang of it....but once it clicked, it clicked big time :) I think I need lots more practice :)
So much so that I rang Winghams this morning and ordered a kilo of fibre.... he he he

My Louet has landed!!!

Spinning Sarah???

50g of my very own handspun yarn!!! OMG!!!
Its got far too much twist in it in places, and it was a real faff plying it on the spindle (as the spindle is only little and only holds about 10g of yarn before it starts wobbling)...but I love it!!!
Its a mix of merino pencil roving I got for felting, and the beautiful corriedale roving that Sarah bought me.....
*dances happily* in my hole.....yes, the hole is big enough for dancing, spinning, plying and knitting.....

What would I do without my friends?

For a number of reasons, I've been feeling really down, doing a lot of "hole dwelling" as my friend Gemma likes to call it.....can't seem to pull myself out of it :(

Anyway, I had a couple of friends over yesterday.... Lottie and Sarah and they both cheered me up, no end....

Lottie and I stitched and bitched till 2pm (well no bitching was actually involved....just chatter), then Sarah cam over at 7.30pm and we did the same, and ate Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Brownie Ice-cream and drank beer whilst watching Heroes.... *grins*

Sarah also brought me a fantastic present, something I've been meaning to get myself into for ages, but have never quite got around to it.

She's made me a spindle!!! And bought me 100g of Corriedale roving from Winghams Its so lovely......had a little go at spindling whilst she was here, and I really like it....will do some more tonight!

So, thankyou my lovely friends, for being right there and knowing what do say to let me have a little vacation from my hole :)

Tote-ally after...........

I ended up putting it through the machine twice.....and to be honest it only needed one...but hey ho!!!
I think its fab...and I love the way its turned out!!!!

Tote-ally before...........

Completely my own design, knit with the right needles for the wool, so not sure how it will felt/shrink.....and made up from pinky remnants from all the Longies/Shorts and Pants I've made over the past year or so...
So if you've had a pair of girly woollies from me, the remains of the wool used for them is in this bag :)
Its in the washing machine at the moment...... :-S
Will blog the post picture later........
