My first Crochet project!!!

Before felting.....

After Felting....

Crocheted with hand dyed Aran weight wool, on an 8mm hook, and then felted in the tumble dryer after :) This started out as a practice square for Double Crochet, then it just grew and grew....so I thought I could make something with it.
Its finished dimensions are 5 inches wide and 9.5 inched deep, so its kind of a wierd shape.... tee hee :)
If I am honest I am a "want it now" fibre artiste......so the thick wool and big 'ooks/needles are the way to go for me......but i think i could get to like crochet a bit!

How Indie are you?

You Are 76% Indie
You're a very indie person, and admit it, you look down a little on people who strive to be normal. You'll indulge in a little mainstream pop culture every now and then. But for you, anything not indie is a guilty pleasure!
How Indie are you?

This is dedicated to a fellow blogger Beekabear who mentioned me on her blog a while back. I didn't know this, as she forgot to leave a comment.....hehehe.....but found it, completely by accident when I googled my name, BabyLonglegs.

I know, how sad am I to google myself, I do it every now and then to see what it throws up, so to speak :D And this time I found another blog to visit/stalk....

So this ones for you BeekaBear.....how Indie are you????

Teehee.....lets see if she leaves a comment this time.... *whistle*

This week, we have mostly been singing.....

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree,
Merry, merry king of the bush is he,
Laugh, Kookaburra, Laugh, Kookaburra,
Gay your life must be.

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree
Eating all the gumdrops he can see
Stop, Kookaburra, Stop, Kookaburra
Leave some there for me.

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree,
Counting all the monkeys he can see
Stop, Kookaburra, Stop, Kookaburra,
That's no monkey, that's me.
It was featured in an Episode of Dr Who, Fear Her and Daniel really took to the song. He's got a beautiful voice :)

Custom Shorts :)

Another pair of custom shorts finished :) This customer saw the pic of the custom newborn ones, and wanted the ribbons around the frills too.

They look great, if a little over lanolised...oops! But overall,I am very pleased with them!

Joel's World

This is a lovely picture of a person, drawn by Joel :)
I just love its simplicity....

Have Koolaid, will dye ;)

Got a scrummy package today......some long-awaited KoolAid!!! Been missing my blues.......so I immediately (and I MEAN immediately.....hehehe) I got some wool out of my BFL stash, and got busy ;)
It has turned out beautifully....I dipped one end of the hanks in Berry Blue (3 sachets)....zapped for 2 mins, checked then re-zapped for 2 mins in the microwave...then did the Ice Blue Raspberry Lemonade (2 sachets) then the Lemonade (2 sachets) at the end....where the blues and the yellow have mixed, the wool has turned turquoise.
Its dry already, the weather has been glorious, so I am just about to ball it up!!!
Wonder whos happy little bottom it will keep dry???

Ickle Newborn Shorts...

I've had a custom order for some Newborn shorts......so I just knit them to the small version of my pattern, but on smaller needles :) I also added some holes at the top of the leg ruffles, so ribbon can be threaded through, to *hopefully* eliminate the gape you get with little spindly newborn legs :o)the width of the legs can be adjusted, to create a "bloomer effect.
The blue ribbon is just some I had here in my workbox, will get some nicer stuff when I next go into town...will set them off nicely!
